January 9th-16th 2022 - Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, Switzerland
The Cambridge University Ice Hockey squad were hosted by Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz between 9th and 16th January for the annual training camp. The conditions were superb over the whole week with no snowfall, a lot of sunshine and cold temperatures favourable for training on the outdoor ice rink. In addition, the Lyceum sports hall and gym were available, so our 12 players underwent intense training with multiple on-ice and off-ice sessions per day. From the delicious meals in the dining hall to playing board games in the Convict, the team spent a lot of time together and bonded into a close-knit unit. Towards the end of the week the Cambridge students met the Lyceum students for a careers panel discussion. The grand finale was the traditional tournament on Saturday in which the Cambridge team faced the very talented team of Lyceum students, and the experienced team of Lyceum staff and friends. The training week is always an amazing experience for the team and we are grateful to Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz for nurturing this tradition and hosting us again.
